Webinar: Legislation update - The changes just keep coming

Once again, the Government is passing legislation that will have an immediate impact on what we do within our industry. In this 40 minute webinar with Q&A at the end, David Faulkner will be looking at The Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill Number 2. This will cover the following:

• Changes to your Tenancy Agreements and lease renewals
• The Osaki effect and what is going to happen here
• Tribunal’s jurisdiction over unlawful residential premises and the tenant’s ability to give notice
• Amendments to Methamphetamine and other contaminants

There is also the passing of another bill that overtime, will have a profound effect on renting in New Zealand. Landlords will no longer have the ability to offset rental losses against personal income. The name of the bill sounds long-winded and boring, but the passing of Taxation (Annual Rates 2019-20, GST Offshore Supplier Registration, and Remedial Matters Bill will have a massive effect on our industry.
